RoboCup US OPEN 2012

Welcome to the webpage for the RoboCup US Open 2012!  This event will be held on April 20th through the 22nd in the Watson Ice Arena at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine.  Admission is free and open to the public.

The Event

The US Open event is a preliminary (though not qualifying) event leading up to the RoboCup World Championships in Mexico City, Mexico this summer.  The event at Bowdoin will feature the Standard Platform League, which consists of Aldebaran Nao humanoid robots playing autonomous 4v4 soccer for two 10-minute halves on a 5.4 x 7.4 meter field.

The Teams

Six US teams from the Standard Platform League will be in attendance – AustinVilla from the University of Texas at Austin, UPennalizers from the University of Pennsylvania, the Cmurfs from Carnegie Mellon, the WPI Warriors from WPI, a team from Bryn Marr and the Northern Bites from Bowdoin College.  The French robotics company who created the NAO, Aldebaran, will also be in attendance.
